I always wanted to record a version of this old song of mine.

lyrics

can’t remember who conceived the notion
in fifteen minutes we reworked the ocean
it happened fast but it was in slow motion
shot against the sky against the scene;
horizontally and vertically.
The gypsy rose came with the potion
in the name of love created quite a commotion;
and made eyes in the all night gauze
beyond the law at the crux of all laws
in a state of implosion …
and all the law had eroded –
or so our good book said
spread out on the mattress like a map of our head.
(I think it’s early
too late to worry;
who says I was worried?
so why we in a hurry?)
We charted districts and we blacked out quadrants
used each others' power to pilot our starships;
we played hands of war at the speed of light –
as the eyes converted fragments into integers of fact
took a second to take a minute to lock lips all circumspect
just like the instructions said
just like was writ on the map of our head in bed.
(I think it’s early
too late to worry
beyond the law at the crux of the crux of all laws
just two ninjas in love and the stars up above y’all.)
